Due to the extended ageing in old, neutral French barrels, today’s 2009 André Beaufort Brut Nature casts a brilliant golden glow. It is soft, persistent and fine on the palate, with plenty of yellow fruit aromas, accompanied by hints of wild herbs. Dried orange peel, smoky minerals, and a nutty finish add to the complexity. Beaufort is revered across the globe for bottling some of the most long lived wines in all of Champagne, and this wine will develop for many more years in the bottle. This rich and ripe vintage however can also be enjoyed very well now.
