Vintage: 2016
Grape: Meunier
Country: France
Appellation: Champagne
100% Meunier from the single vintage of 2016, carefully monitored and bottled according to the lunar calendar. Bottled and aged for another 5 years before release, this is ready to enjoy now, but also had a life ahead of it. This wine has not undergone malolactic fermentation, as to preserve as much of the refreshing acidity as possible. A zero dosage wine from 40 year old Meunier vines. It is texturally rich, reflecting the warmth of this south-facing site, yet it possesses a remarkable energy and vitality as well. Part wood, part fruit, and delicious pastry notes.
"The 2016 Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs ADN de Meunier marries the textural intensity of Meunier with striking, laser-like energy that cuts straight through the mid-palate and into the finish. Saline and focused, with bright acids, the 2016 is one of the most complete and deeply satisfying Champagnes I have tasted from this vintage so far. Crushed rocks, sage, mint, dried flowers and ginger lead into the sculpted finish. Brilliant. Disgorged: July 13, 2021. Drinking window: 2022-2030."
