Benevelli

Piedmont (Monforte d’Alba)

The journey of the Benevelli estate began back in 1978, when Piero Benevelli established a five-hectare estate in Monforte d’Alba to cultivate the traditional Piedmontese varieties Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. His son Massimo entered the family business at the age of 14, immediately adopting the core belief that remains the cornerstone of his operation: that superior winemaking is entirely dependent on harvesting the best possible grapes.

Today, Massimo is a viticulturist to follow. He is involved in every step of the process from vineyard to bottle, and his wines are defined by their character and identity.
The vast majority of the family's vineyard plots are located on the sunny,  southeastern slopes of the Ravera Cru, tucked into the far southeastern corner of the Barolo region. Terroir from Ravera is highly regarded because it beautifully bridges the muscular backbone found in neighboring Serralunga d’Alba with the opulent depth and concentration of Bussia and other more northern vineyard sites.

While Massimo's Barolo releases are remarkably rewarding even upon release, however a minimum of five years of cellaring allows them to fully express their character. Furthermore, his regional Dolcetto and Langhe Nebbiolo serve as wonderful expressions of Piedmont, pure joys to drink.

We currently have no Benevelli wines in stock.
