Vintage: 2018
Grape: Meunier
Country: France
Appellation: Champagne
100% Meunier from the single vintage of 2016, carefully monitored and bottled according to the lunar calendar. Bottled and aged for another 5 years before release, this is ready to enjoy now, but also had a life ahead of it. This wine has not undergone malolactic fermentation, as to preserve as much of the refreshing acidity as possible. A zero dosage wine from 40 year old Meunier vines. It is texturally rich, reflecting the warmth of this south-facing site, yet it possesses a remarkable energy and vitality as well. Part wood, part fruit, and delicious pastry notes.
"The NV (2018) Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs AON de Meunier, all 2018 vintage, is superb. Aromatic and sculpted, the 2018 sizzles with tension. Citrus peel, white flowers, chalk, mint and slate race across the palate. All the elements are so well delineated. This is such a classy and distinctive Champagne. Meunier is rarely this complete, this unique. Zero dosage. Disgorged: May 2024; multiple disgorgements throughout the year. Drinking window: 2025-2032."
