This is from the same vineyard as the last bottlings, but sourced from the northern face of the vineyard instead of the southern face. This was the best part of the vineyard in 2022. Picked from a 0.2ha plot, this wine is extremely limited in availability. 2019 is the first vintage Dave released this wine. Complex and rich, representing the soils of Asili, Rabaja and Rio Sordo, this wine is closer to a Barolo in character. Dave considers the Faset to be in the middle of his other Barbarescos Starderi and Roncaglie, combining elegance and power to make his most traditional in style Barbaresco single vineyard wine. Fermented with natural yeasts and hand plunged once every two days. The wine stays on the skins until dry, before being pressed into 300L 10 year old French oak barriques for two years of ageing. 1,260 bottles produced.

"Barbaresco. Bottle 1,230 of 1,305. North-facing but at the top of the hill, hence vines get some direct sunlight. A shade deeper than the Ronchi. A little more profound and dense on the nose compared with Ronchi, which is the more elegant and refined, but that is criticising on a very high level. Raspberry and cherry with beautiful supple acidity and finely ground tannins. Still a little embryonic but already showing real class. Complete."
