Vintage: 2021
Grape: Sangiovese
Country: Italy
Appellation: Tuscany
From the youngest vines of the estate, this is really a baby Brunello. Fermented in steel and aged for 3-6 months in large cask, it hits the nose with aromas of red cherry jam, raspberry syrup and mocha. The palate is rich and creamy, showing opulent flavours of red cherry, raspberry syrup, minerals and a hint of chocolate, with refined acidity that provides lift and freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with a lingering note of ripe red cherry.
On the 2020 vintage:
"Dark and woodsy in the glass, the 2020 Rosso di Montalcino slowly comes to life, displaying crushed black raspberries, savory herbs and exotic spice. It's silky and elegant upon the palate, with a polished wave of ripe red fruits carried across and energetic core of saline-tinged acidity. A coting of fine tannins are left to linger, engulfing notes of licorice and bitter wild berries, as the 2020 tapers off with impressive length. Drinking window: 2023-2028."
