From the Bouzy Grand Cru village, this is 100% Pinot Noir from a 0.6ha plot of over 30 year old vines. Vinified in oak, this is a powerful Champagne, balanced by a serious vivacity representative of its origin, the heart of Bouzy. Dosage: 1 g/litre. Only 3,640 bottles produced.
On the 2018 vintage:
"The 2018 Extra Brut Jolivettes Bouzy Grand Cru is a pure Pinot Noir vinified in oak. This golden wine sports notes of rye sourdough with ripe Mirabelle plum, red apple and citrus. A spicy note of maple syrup hovers in the background. Fine mousse pulses through a body with ample chalky depth. This is rounded, ample, but not opulent because profound chalk contains everything, adding a salty streak to the creamy mid-palate with the merest veil of astringency. Dry, sophisticated, elegant and beautifully fresh for 2018. Dosage is lgr/L. Disgorged: August, 2022. Drinking window: 2023-2035."
