A single-vintage Champagne made exclusively with first-press juice. Majority of Pinot Noir, selected mainly in Bouzy, and an addition of Chardonnay, mainly coming from Ecueil. Vinification and maturing is carried out in vats and in oak for wines chosen on the basis of their initial quality. A very delicate wine with evolving notes of brioche bread, fruit (quince), and hazelnuts. Subtle, exquisitely delicate balance on the palate with a glorious lingering finish. Average of five year maturing period in the bottle. Disgorged by hand and laid down for at least three months before sale. An intense Champagne that will do great justice to a meal.

"Admirably, Nicolas Maillart only makes his vintage cuvée in top seasons and 2012 followed 2002 and 2008, with 2015 yet to come and potentially 2018. For him, 2012 was a season that contrasts great maturity with great freshness. He has composed an even and harmonious assemblage of the gentle strawberry and red cherry fruit of point noir, the apple and grapefruit of chardonnay, and the gentle brioche and subtle vanilla-custard complexity of barrel fermentation and less age. In signature Maillart style, it's at once creamy and crunchy, thanks to carefully fine-tuned barrel fermentation in the presence of ripe malic acidity. Subtle spice lingers very long in the beautifully enticing style."
