100% Chardonnay. Produced only in great years, this Champagne is produced with limited quantity. The grapes are sourced in Ecueil (1er Cru), from different parcels of old vines only. The wine is vinified exclusively in wooden vats, followed by a long maturation in wooden vats without any filtration before bottling. A delicate wine without dosage, but with notes of minerality and toast.
On the 2012 bottling:
"A complex and characterful cuvee that welds the power of ripe and exuberant chardonnay with the flavours and textures of barrel fermentation. The combination makes for a succulent, creamy and soft style, layered with white peach, custard apple, creme brûlée, baked fig, even toffee. It carries very long and finishes with even harmony, the gentle tension of ripe malic acidity melding seamlessly with enticing fruit, and no need for dosage whatsoever (an extremely rare achievement)."
