Type: Sparkling
Vintage: 2018
Grapes: 40% Chardonnay, 25% Arbanne, 25% Petit Meslier and 10% Pinot Blanc
Appellation: Champagne
40% Chardonnay, 25% Arbanne, 25% Petit Meslier and 10% Pinot Blanc from the villages Villedommange, Pargny-lès-Reims, Jouy-lès-Reims and Coulommes-la-Montagne, classified as Premier Cru. A blend of the four true white grape varieties of the Champagne region: the Arbanne, a nervous and aromatic wine, the generous Petit Meslier, full of freshness and very fruity, the elegant and fine Chardonnay with great aromatic power, and the exotic Pinot blanc. The slightly sparkling "petite mousse" (sablé) version of this wine distinguishes itself with a creamy impression on the palate. From the outset, the wine is lively and airy with its chiseled nose of flowers, bergamot and ginger. Vibrant, straightforward, and stimulating, it is a wine that perfectly assumes its status as a blanc de blancs, providing a great sensation of purity and naturalness, with a beautiful, honeyed quality.
"The 2018 Brut Blanc des Blancs Le Nombre d'Or Sablé is a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 25% Arbanne, 25% Petit Meslier and 10% Pinot Blanc-note the 'des' rather than 'de' in the wine's name. Lemon peel, white pepper, chalk, mint and crushed rocks give the 2018 its taut personality. A Champagne of crystalline purity and tension, this sizzles from start to finish. Readers who enjoy brisk, finely cut Champagnes will delight in the 2018. Dosage is zero. Disgorged: May 2023."
