Aromatically seductive, with notes of bright berries, intermingled with menthol, tar and tobacco. Equally enticing, the palate bursts with red fruit, smoke, mint and herbs. A classic Barolo, the tannins are still quite pronounced, though they have certainly softened, yielding a supple and elegant expression of this Monforte terroir. A beautiful Barolo that is ready to drink now or could be laid down for another few years.

It has good balance and concentration, with charming appeal in its fine tannins and refreshing acidity without harshness. Fresh with cranberry cocktail, apricot, and dusty earth, it has a great finish and is an outstanding entry Barolo to drink over the coming 10 years."
