Type: Red
Grape variety: Grolleau
Country: France
Appellation: Vin de France
This Grolleau from Les Athlètes du Vin is sourced from sustainable vineyards with 60 year old vines. Grown on clay-silt soils on blue schist, the grapes are hand harvested.
On arrival in the winery, the grapes are left to ferment with a spontaneous carbonic maceration in stainless steel, before ageing in cement tank for six months.
Bright, sweetly spiced and textured, this is an easy drinking and utterly charming version of this little-known Loire grape. A wine to be drunk while still young and not to be taken too seriously. Great with charcuterie and washed-rind cheeses.
