Type: Red
Vintage: 2021
Grape: Syrah
Country: France
Appellation: Côtes du Roussillon
This Syrah showcases the classic granitic backbone for which this appellation is known, along with cassis and sauvage mid-palate flavours, so typical of fine Cornas. The 2021 has all the expected earthy elements, but also a deliciously pure core of richly concentrated fruit. Full-bodied on the palate, without feeling sweet or overly chunky.
On the 2020 vintage:
"Glass-staining violet. Deeply pitches, mineral-accented aromas of blackberry, cherry, game and violet are complemented by a suggestion of exotic spices. Youthfully chewy and appealingly sweet, offering intense black and blue fruit, floral pastille, smoky bacon and spicecake flavors, with a hint of salty olive. Finishes sweet, smoky and long, displaying finely etched mineral and floral pastille notes and steadily building tannins. Drinking window: 2026-2035."
