This Barbera comes from three vineyards. While two are close to each other and south facing, they vary  about 20 years in age. The third vineyard is an east facing plot, and therefore a cooler site. 30% of the grapes is kept in whole bunch in open fermenters, resulting in a very fruity wine. It is pressed off to old barriques for 8 months of ageing on the lees, before bottling without fining or filtration and with a very minimal dose of sulfites added.
