This Syrah is a blend of 50% from sandy granite on Pitrou at St-Jean-de-Muzols (planted in the 1940s-1950s) and 50% from hard granite, quartz, red clay, alluvial stones on Les Champs at Tournon (1960s), sandy granite at Vion (1970). All grapes are whole bunch fermented, with pumping overs and aged used 600-litre oak for 10-12 months. Unfined and unfiltered. This is a fresh, savory, and quietly structured Syrah. Aromatic red fruits, rose petal and acidity drive this wine, with a touch a tannic crunch. This is made for early drinking, but can be enjoyed over the next 10 years.
