Benoît Lahaye’s owns a tiny plot outside of Montagne de Reims: a mere .12 in the Côte des Blancs, in a tiny vineyard called Les Mont-Ferrés in Voipreux. His friend Pierre Larmandier, who also works in accordance with biodynamic principles, tends to these vines since he lives just minutes away. To produce any substantial amount of wine, this wine is always a blend of two vintages, but is still very rare. Barrel fermented with indigenous yeasts, bottled without sulfur, and corked without any dosage. This is a Champagne with tremendous finesse and terroir expression.
