100% Chardonnay, planted between 1964 and 1967 on the chalky hillside furthest to the east in the Montgueux vineyards. This wine has aged on the lees for 24 months in a combination of stainless steel tanks and used Burgundy barrels (4-20 years old). No new oak and no bâtonnage. Malolactic fermentation completes naturally. Disgorged after 3 to 5 years in bottle, this is a powerful Blanc de Blancs, that combines refreshing acidity and citrus notes with a distinctive yeasty character.

"The most elegant of all is Le Cotet, made with chardonnay harvested from a steep, chalky vineyard of the same name, Planted in 1964, it produces a racy, vivid wine, demonstrating the ripeness of Montuguex while feeling more restrained than the other wines of the villages." Peter Liem

Review of earlier disgorgement:
"The latest release of the NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Le Cotet was disgorged in March, and it's based on the 2015 vintage, with some 10% older bottled wines that have been "remise en cercles." Offering up lovely aromas of lemon oil, white flowers, mandarin and pear, along with some autolytic top notes of warm bread, the wine is medium to full-bodied, vinous and structured, with a racy spice of acidity, a tightly wound core and a long, chalky finish. It's a powerful but tensile Blanc de Blancs that comes from a plot of old vines planted in 1964."
