A 12-pack, containing two bottles of each of the following wines:
2019 La Grange Tiphaine - Bel Air
One of the great white grapes of the world: Chenin Blanc. This Chenin was grown on limestone soils, resulting in a wine very typical of the Loire Valley, with elegant and refreshing acidity, gorgeous texture and a cascade of mineral notes. The wine is fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, unfined and with low addition of sulphites. Superb value and testament to the deliciousness of this under-appreciated grape.
Rinaldini - Lambrusco Pjcol Ross
This Lambrusco is made entirely from the ancient and endangered PJCOL Ross grape variety (pronounced "Picoll") in the metodo classico style. The variety was uprooted by many grape growers because of its naturally low yields, but the Rinaldini family committed to saving this indigenous grape and now have 3 hectares planted. They are the only estate producing a single variety PJCOL Ross Lambrusco.
2019 Mainente - Soave Cengelle
90% Garganega & 10% Trebbiano di Soave
Made from grapes grown on calcareous soils at the foot of Mount Tenda in Veneto, Cengelle stands out for its freshness and floral notes. The nose displays an enticing scent of white blossom and some tropical fruit. On the palate, this medium-bodied white wine is pleasant, balanced, and overtly fruity, with green plums and more exotic fruit hints.
2018 Les Athlètes du Vin - Pinot Noir
A Pinot Noir that shows how the variety can thrive in the cool climate of the Loire Valley. The grapes come from 20 year old vines with low yields, and are partly aged in stainless steel tanks and wooden vats. The wine is fruity in a very elegant way, with silky tannins and a delicate freshness. Pair with charcuterie, poultry, red meats and cheeses.
2017 Binner - L'Edel
Blend of younger vine Auxerrois, Sylvaner and Riesling. Edelzwicker is a traditional Alsatian term for a field blend of unspecified white grapes, usually associated with cheaper wines sold by the litre. However, Christian Binner shows that this concept, when executed with passion and expertise, can lead to a delicious wine. It is a light bodied but intense wine with notes of green apple and a hint of petrol from the Riesling.
Domaine Morel - Crémant Rosé Côtes de Jura
No Spring without a sparkling rosé. This delicious traditional method sparkling wine from the Jura is made with 100% Pinot Noir, and is aged for five years on the lees.
